Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute and AAOM Oral Oncology Symposium
This symposium will explore the evolving impact of modern cancer therapies on oral health, with a focus on oral mucositis, osteonecrosis of the jaw, and oral potentially malignant disorders. Participants will gain practical insights into the recognition, prevention, surveillance, and management of these complex conditions, including emerging therapies and clinical advances. The program will also address the long-term oral health challenges faced by cancer survivors and the importance of multidisciplinary care in optimizing functional outcomes, quality of life, and survivorship.

- Apply MASCC/ISOO guideline-based strategies for prevention and management of oral complications in head and neck cancer.
- Identify early signs of oral and oropharyngeal cancer to support timely referral and multidisciplinary care.
- Integrate oral health management into cancer treatment and survivorship planning.
