Baptist Health has a process in place to ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in CME programming. Through this process Baptist Health identifies and, when applicable, mitigates conflicts of interest of all individuals in a position to control or influence CME content, including faculty, conference directors, planners, content reviewers, CME Committee members and the CME Department staff. The CME Department is responsible for content review and, when necessary, makes modifications to mitigate conflicts of interest so final presentations are fair and un-biased. These efforts are intended to affirm that the educational content is not controlled or influenced – directly or indirectly – by an ineligible company*. The ACCME does not consider providers of clinical service directly to patients to be ineligible companies*.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Disclosure

To support the quality, clarity, and accessibility of our continuing medical education (CME) activities,  Baptist Health Continuing Medical Education may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for limited administrative functions such as grammar review, editing, formatting, and proofreading.

All educational content is independently developed, rigorously reviewed, and approved by qualified subject matter experts to ensure it is accurate, evidence-based, balanced, and free of commercial bias. AI is not used to generate clinical recommendations, interpret evidence, or influence educational decision-making.

Consistent with the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence and guidance on responsible AI use, we maintain full human oversight and accountability for all content. AI-assisted materials undergo the same level of review as non-AI content, including validation for accuracy, mitigation of bias, and confirmation of scientific integrity.

We are committed to transparency, ethical innovation, and continuous improvement. Our approach includes clear disclosure of AI use, ongoing evaluation of its impact on educational effectiveness, and governance processes to ensure alignment with accreditation requirements and evolving best practices.

We also prioritize data privacy and confidentiality. No protected health information (PHI), personally identifiable information (PII), or proprietary content is entered into AI tools unless appropriate safeguards, approvals, and compliance standards are met.

Our use of AI is designed to enhance the educational experience while preserving learner trust, safeguarding independence, and upholding the highest standards of accredited continuing education.

*Ineligible companies – Companies whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients.
