Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this symposium, participants should be better able to:
- Apply evidence-based pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies to manage symptoms and adjust treatment plans based on disease trajectory and patient response.
- Provide culturally sensitive, holistic care that addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of patients and families.
- Demonstrate effective, empathetic, and culturally sensitive communication with patients, families, and care teams in palliative and end-of-life care.
- Enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills for managing difficult conversations and facilitating advance care planning.
- Develop individualized, patient- and family-centered care plans that align with patient goals, values, and stage of illness.
