Symposium Directors
 
Nicholas C. Lambrou, M.D., is chief of robotic surgery at Baptist Health South Florida. He is board-certified in gynecologic oncology and is chair of the disease management team for gynecologic oncology at the Miami Cancer Institute. He specializes in treating women with gynecologic malignancies and robotic surgical approaches to complex gynecologic conditions. Dr. Lambrou graduated from Boston University School of Medicine, completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Miami.

 
Anthony Gonzalez, M.D., FACS, FASMBS, is chief of surgery at Baptist Hospital of Miami, medical director of bariatric surgery at South Miami Hospital and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group. A general surgeon with a specialty in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, he is a graduate of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Gonzalez is an associate professor of surgery at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and a voluntary assistant professor of surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
 
Faculty
 
Jorge T. Caso, M.D., is a practicing urologist. He graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 2003 where he completed his residency. Dr. Caso is affiliated with Baptist, Doctors and South Miami Hospitals.
 
John P. Diaz, M.D., is a gynecologic oncologist. He graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed a residency at the University Of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Diaz is affiliated with Baptist, Doctors and South Miami Hospitals.
 
Mark Dylewski, M.D., is a thoracic and robotic surgeon at Miami Cancer Institute, an affiliate of Baptist Health South Florida. He is chief of general thoracic surgery and medical director of robotic surgery of Baptist Health Medical Group. Dr. Dylewski is a graduate of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed residencies at the University of California Davis-East Bay and the University of Albany Medical Center. He is an expert in minimally invasive thoracic surgery.
 
Julio Garcia-Aguilar, M.D., Ph.D., is chief of colorectal services and Benno C. Schmidt Chair in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering. He has dedicated his career to the surgical care of people with colon and rectal cancer and is an expert in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques for performing these surgeries. Dr. Garcia-Aguilar graduated from Universidad Comlutense in Madrid and completed his residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Hospital and his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Minnesota. 
 
Omar Llaguna, M.D., is a general and oncology surgeon. A graduate of Ross University in New York, he completed a fellowship at the University of North Carolina Hospital and a residency in general surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Llaguna is affiliated with Baptist, Doctors, South Miami, Homestead, Mariners and West Kendall Baptist Hospitals.
 
Michael Patane, MSPAS, PA-C, is physician assistant coordinator in minimal access and robotic surgery and head and neck surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
 
Rafael Perez, M.D., is a member of the South Miami Hospital Committee for Robotic Surgery, and is the medical director of the Fibroid Center of South Miami Hospital. He specializes minimally invasive ;aparoscopic robotic surgery. Additionally, Dr. Perez is trained in urogynecological diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as endoscopic surgery, including advanced operative laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures.
 
Jorge Rabaza, M.D., FACS, is a general surgeon and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group, specializing in bariatric surgery, including revisional surgery. Dr. Rabaza graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and a voluntary instructor of surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
 
Rupa Seetharamaiah, M.D., is a Board-certified general surgeon and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group. She specializes in weight-loss surgery and has extensive training in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for minimally invasive and bariatric procedures. Dr. Seetharamaiah received her medical degree from the University of Mysore, India and completed her residency at the University of Mississippi. She also completed a fellowship in the Advanced Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery program at Baptist Health. She is an assistant professor of surgery at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
 
Jaime Sepulveda, M.D., is a gynecologist. Dr. Sepulveda graduated from the University of Puerto and completed his residency at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Center in obstetrics and gynecology and his fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Sepulveda is affiliated with Baptist and South Miami Hospitals. 
 
Martin Weiser, M.D., is a surgical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He serves as vice chair for education and faculty development in the department of surgery and Stuart H.Q. Quan Chair in Colorectal Surgery. Dr. Weiser specializes in treating cancers of the gastrointestinal tract such as colon cancer, rectal cancer, anal cancer, small bowel cancers and appendiceal cancer. He Weiser graduated from the University of Chicago and completed his residency in general surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and his fellowships in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; and colon and rectal surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
