Miami Cancer Institute Multispecialty Grand Rounds: Strategies to Target RAS in Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer has been relatively recalcitrant to various treatment strategies and overall prognosis has remained poor.  Recently, development of various strategies to target RAS have shown promise in clinical trials.  
This lecture will review the strategies to target RAS both directly and RAS signaling with downstream combinations.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signaling pathway and how this contributes to malignant growth. 
  • Describe different RAS inhibitor strategies, identify potential strengths and weaknesses. 
  • Demonstrate ways to target RAS signaling indirectly through combinations with MEK inhibitors.
