The Healing Edge Wound Care Symposium
The Wound Care Symposium is dedicated to equipping bedside caregivers with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively assess, monitor, and treat wounds across diverse patient populations. Wounds can occur in any care setting, and timely, evidence-based education is critical to achieving optimal patient outcomes.
Led by an esteemed faculty of experienced clinicians, this dynamic program will explore the latest advances in wound and ostomy care, with topics including negative pressure wound therapy, venous stasis and lymphedema management, best practices in ostomy patient care, and recognizing and addressing skin failure.
Designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses, the symposium offers content relevant to multiple clinical environments—from acute care to outpatient and home health. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies and an enhanced understanding of evidence-based interventions to improve the quality of wound care and patient recovery.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this symposium, participants should be better able to:
- Discuss best practices for comprehensive wound assessment and establish accurate differential diagnoses to guide effective treatment plans.
- Apply the principles of antimicrobial stewardship to optimize infection prevention and management in wound care while minimizing antimicrobial resistance.
- Evaluate and implement evidence-based strategies for the management of lower extremity wounds, including venous, arterial, and diabetic etiologies.
- Enhance clinical skills in the management and support of patients with an ostomy, addressing both physical and psychosocial aspects of care.
