Miami Cancer Institute Multispecialty Grand Rounds – Transforming radiation oncology using real-time MR guidance: Improving survival and reducing toxicity even for the most challenging cancers
Radiation therapy (RT) is an essential component of effective cancer care and is used with nearly all cancer types. The delivery of RT is becoming more precise through rapid advances in both computing and imaging. The direct integration of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with linear accelerators represents an exciting development with the potential to dramatically impact cancer research and treatment. During this conference Michael Chuong, M.D. will demonstrate abilities of MRI guidance and illustrate improvements in clinical outcomes of MRI-guided radiation therapy.
