MCI Radiation Oncology Grand Rounds: Radiotherapy for Hodgkin Lymphoma, Optimizing Survivorship
This lecture will provide a comprehensive review of the clinical trials and key studies that define current radiotherapy indications in Hodgkin lymphoma. By examining both historical and contemporary evidence, the session will clarify where radiotherapy remains essential, where its role has evolved, and where uncertainty persists. Particular attention will be given to the gaps in knowledge that continue to challenge clinicians—especially scenarios in which the benefit of radiotherapy is unclear or understudied.
Target Audience
Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Oncology Surgeons and Radiologists
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate and synthesize current clinical evidence supporting radiotherapy indications in Hodgkin lymphoma, including PET adapted strategies, involved site radiotherapy principles.
- Identify and articulate the key gaps in current evidence and clinical understanding regarding the use of radiotherapy in Hodgkin lymphoma, including uncertainties in PET adapted decision making.
- Explain the central role of survivorship in the management of Hodgkin lymphoma, demonstrating an understanding of how long term health risks, late treatment effects, and quality of life considerations shape therapeutic decision making, follow up care, and patient counseling across the survivorship continuum.
