Learning Objectives
- Recognize the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and purpose of each part of the exam as it relates to the portion of the brain being tested.
- Identify acute stroke symptoms utilizing FAST-ED.
- Explain the purpose of administering the NIHSS.
- Perform and score an NIHSS exam on a volunteer “patient.”
