Conversations in Ethics: The Ethical Challenges with Organ Donors and Recipients

Miami, FL US
September 21, 2018

Organ procurement organizations have the privilege of working with both organ donor families and organ recipients and their families to achieve the goal of saving lives. It is well documented that one of the most powerful ways to advance organ donation is by word of mouth from those who have been personally touched by donation or transplantation. Respecting the confidentiality of both groups of customers is imperative and requires sensitivity and strict adherence to best practices. So what if a donor family wants to meet a recipient or vice versa?

Please join us to learn how Life Alliance Organ procurement organization (LAO) addresses ethical challenges while maintaining appropriate confidentiality protections and ensuring a positive donation and transplant experience.
