This course provides an overview of the latest research and clinical advancements presented by fellows from the Florida International University/Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute Fellowship Program. Participants will share findings that address common yet complex clinical conditions requiring specialized, multidisciplinary care. Emphasis will be placed on the evolving role of vascular and interventional radiology in diagnosing and treating these conditions, highlighting innovative, minimally invasive therapies that are often under-recognized within the medical community. The course aims to enhance awareness, foster collaboration across specialties, and improve patient outcomes by bridging gaps in an advanced interventional practice.

Radiologists, Interventional Radiologists, Pulmonologists, Vascular Medicine Physicians, Vascular Surgeons, Thoracic Surgeons, Imaging Services Administration, Baptist Health Executives, Hospitalists, Family Medicine Physicians, Nurses and all other interested allied health professionals.

Learning Objectives

  • Compare open surgical endarterectomy versus endovascular therapy for common femoral artery disease
  • Review outcomes in patients with acute limb ischemia (ALI) treated with advanced mechanical thrombectomy techniques
  • Learn novel approaches to liver mass ablations using advanced robotics
  • Recognize patients with critical limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) and apply appropriate treatment approaches aimed at reducing the risk of reintervention and improving limb preservation
