COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Please join us for Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) for Early-Stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: The “Virtual” Lobectomy? with Andrew R. Barsky, M.D. Dr. Barsky will discuss the epidemiology, etiology, subtypes, presentation and workup of early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) as well as the basic treatment options and outcomes of observation for early-stage NSCLC.

Internal Medicine Physicians, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Residents, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and all other interested healthcare providers

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Discuss the epidemiology, etiology, subtypes, presentation and workup of early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
  • Discuss the basic treatment options and outcomes of observation for early-stage NSCLC.
  • Explain the outcomes of surgery and radiotherapy for early-stage NSCLC.
  • Analyze the toxicity profile of radiotherapy for early-stage NSCLC.
  • Assess the data that have influenced optimal radiotherapy dose, fractionation and technique for early-stage NSCLC.
  • Discuss the process of radiotherapy treatment planning, safety measures and quality assurance for early-stage NSCLC.
