COURSE DESCRIPTION: 
Please join us for a discussion on “Diagnosis and Treatment of Malnutrition in Hospitalized Patients” with Jessica Weissman, Ph.D., RDN, LDN. Dr. Weissman will identify malnutrition in patients with obesity and normal body weight as indicated by body mass index (BMI), implement a follow-up plan for a proper intervention and follow up plan for a patient experiencing malnutrition, and describe the causes of malnutrition in patients who are hospitalized.

Internal Medicine Physicians, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Residents,  Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and all other interested healthcare providers

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Identify malnutrition in patients with obesity and normal body weight as indicated by body mass index (BMI).
• Plan a proper intervention and a follow up plan for a patient experiencing malnutrition.
• Describe the causes of malnutrition in patients who are hospitalized.
• Defend a diagnosis of malnutrition in a patient with diabetes and obesity.
• Contrast malnutrition assessment tools.
