Clinician Well-being Conference Series: Becoming a Mindful Provider

Mindfulness has the potential to promote health and enrich the practice of medicine by encouraging empathy, compassion, and attentiveness, thus improving patient encounters and delivery of care. 

Dr. Frank Anderson will present “Becoming a Mindful Provider” with the goal of guiding the medical staff and healthcare team to fully understand the benefits of mindfulness and awareness and to provide practical application strategies to implement not only into their medical practice but also into their daily life. 
 

Target Audience

Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dietitians and other interested healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

  • Define “mindfulness awareness” and identify ways in which to apply mindfulness into their daily life and medical practice.
  • Integrate the four main components of mindfulness into their daily practice to connect to a place of inner calm, peace, wisdom and stability.
  • Apply tools to be used for short-term or longer periods of mindfulness practice.
  • Imagine an aspirational plan for becoming a mindful provider.
