Perinatal mental illnesses are a leading cause of maternal mortality. Approximately 1 in 5 Florida Moms experience a perinatal mood disorder. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists recommends screening during the perinatal period for depression and anxiety symptoms using standardized and validated tools. Join us as Dr. Connie Morrow outlines symptom presentation of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy and the post-partum period and provides evidence-based screening tools and available community resources and treatment modalities to improve clinical outcomes for this patient population.
