COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will allow learners to expand their leadership skills and improve communication practices, as well as develop consensus building and decision-making skills. Through active learner participation and refinement of communication skills, leaders will be better equipped to preempt potential conflict by understanding diverse viewpoints to find common ground for complex situations.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Department directors, department chairs, active Medical Staff contributors, committee members and those with past roles as medical staff leaders. NOTE: This course is by invitation only. Participants are identified by Zulma Berrios, M.D., and Ruben Ricardo, M.D., Chief Medical Officer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

•    Identify the purpose and impact of the 2022 BHM leadership program
•    Develop mutual expectations (facilitators and participants)
•    Share participant input on BHM goals to engage with in this program
•    Identify group goals to pursue in this program
