Moderate Sedation and Analgesia for the Non-anesthesiologist

Physicians using moderate sedation should be able to allay the patient's fear and anxiety when using analgesia. Moderate sedation involves managing the care of patients receiving sedative or analgesic medications. Course participants will be better able to assess patients for conscious sedation and review the pharmacology and administration of commonly used sedatives. Proper airway management and assessing potential respiratory complications are critical care elements of conscious sedation. This course meets Baptist Health Medical Staff re-credentialing requirements.
