COURSE DESCRIPTION:

During this conference series APP’s will develop an improved understanding of current clinical guidelines, protocols, and standards of care. Strengthening communication skills to support effective discussions with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members, promoting collaborative decision-making and high-quality patient care.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Classical Hematology APP Fellows and clinical APPs from inpatient and outpatient of Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Demonstrate the ability to identify and interpret current evidence-based recommendations for the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of common benign hematologic disorders.
• Apply updated clinical guidelines and diagnostic approaches to support effective management of patients with anemia, thrombotic disorders, sickle cell disease, thrombocytopenia, and other benign hematologic conditions.
• Integrate evidence-based treatment and monitoring strategies into clinical practice to optimize patient outcomes and promote consistency in care delivery.
• Utilize effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination skills to manage patients with complex benign hematologic disorders across care settings.
• Evaluate patient-specific clinical factors and incorporate shared decision-making principles to develop individualized, patient-centered management plans in both outpatient and inpatient hematology settings.
