West Kendall Baptist Hospital Conference Series: Management of Hypertension in Hospitalized Patients

Hypertension is highly prevalent, affecting nearly one-third of the U.S. adult population. In recent national data of hospitalizations, hypertension was listed as a primary diagnosis.  In this course, physicians will apply management guidelines to avoid overtreating patients with high blood pressure and review challenging clinical cases to improve the management of hospitalized patients with hypertension for optimum care. 

Target Audience

Hospitalists, Family Medicine Physicians, General Internists, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Dietitians, Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, and other interested healthcare professionals.  

 

Learning Objectives

  • Implement evidence-based treatment plans when treating hospitalized patients with acute hypertension.
  • Consistently manage hypertension in hospitalized patients.
  • Summarize or review challenging clinical cases of patients with high blood pressure.
