Culturally competent communication is inherently related to delivery of quality care, improving patient outcomes and reducing readmissions. Neal R. Goodman, Ph.D., a communications expert, discusses how common communication pitfalls are related to delivery of care. The information presented will clearly show that communication influences patient compliance and thereby patient outcomes. Since payment policies are connected to quality indicators, effective communication will remain imperative.
