Miami Cancer Institute Multispecialty Grand Rounds: Care of the Older Adult with Cancer – An Issue in Health Equity
Cancer is mainly a disease of older adults. Unfortunately, older adults are underrepresented in clinical trials and have different needs than younger patients. Oncology practitioners need to be attentive to better understand how to care for the older adult, trials targeted to older adults with comorbidity, and health systems should support multidisciplinary teams to offer the best care possible.
