MCI Oncology Academic Educational Series – Supportive Cancer Update

The supportive cancer update conference will review different classes of anti-emetics and develop an appropriate anti-emetic regimen based on the emetogenicity of the chemotherapy agents.  Participants will understand mucositis by reviewing risk factors, preventive care and treatment. 

Diana Hernandez, Alyssa Donadio and Moe Shwin will help participants understand the use of myeloid growth factors for prophylaxis and therapeutic use for febrile neutropenia. 
 

Target Audience

Oncology Nurses, Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Hematology Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Social Workers, Patient Navigators and other interested healthcare providers.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss the four major classifications of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). 
  • Identify patient risk factors for febrile neutropenia.
  • Assess anemia treatment options in the context of an individual patients condition.
