Appropriate Utilization of Troponin, Pro-BNP and D-dimer in the Clinical Setting: State of the Art

This course provides practitioners with latest evidence-based guidelines for the appropriate use of troponin, D-dimer and Pro-BNP.

Target Audience

Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute affiliated physicians as well as other interested cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, hospitalists and physician assistants. 

Learning Objectives

  • Utilize troponin appropriately in the assessment of patients with chest pain. 
  • Determine when it is and is not appropriate to order Pro-BNP and D-dimer in the assessment of patients with congestive heart failure. 
  • Recognize the clinical and economic consequences of inappropriate use of these signature tests.
