The Risk of Caregiving: Compassion Fatigue and Caregiver Burnout

Emerging evidence suggests that support of caregivers, including education and training, can improve health outcomes for both the caregivers and the care recipients. In this course, Dr. Nathaly Shoua-Desmarais will discuss the challenges of informal caregiving, the impact that burnout and compassion fatigue can have on patient care, and strategies to mitigate or prevent the adverse health effects of burnout and compassion fatigue. 

Target Audience

Primary Care Physicians, Family Practice Physicians, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Neurologists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists (Instructional Level: Intermediate), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Social Workers and other interested clinical care providers.
