Palliative Care Conference: The Interprofessional Team Approach to Care in the Time of COVID-19
Baptist Health Medical Group’s Palliative Care Department, presents The Interprofessional Team Approach to Care in the Time of COVID-19. Palliative care is a rapidly growing medical specialty, and a mounting body of evidence shows that it enhances the quality of healthcare for persons living with serious illness and for their families, while reducing medical expenditures. Join us as our interprofessional panel discusses the tools necessary to assess and treat physical and psychological symptoms, identify and support for spiritual distress, communicate goals of care and assist with complex medical decision making that aligns with patients’ and families’ cultural and religious beliefs through a series of case-based presentations.
Target Audience
Palliative Care Team Members, including Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Social Workers, Respiratory Therapists, Clinical Chaplains, Pharmacists, Medical Students, Registered Dietitians and other interested healthcare professionals.

- Implement strategies to participate in more goals of care and advance care planning conversations.
- Deliver care to reduce suffering and improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.
