Miami Cancer Institute Multispecialty Grand Rounds: Minimizing Racial Disparities in Cancer Care

May 8, 2023

Racial disparities in cancer care are persistent, pervasive, and widespread. They impact millions of individuals across the US. These disparities must be addressed through comprehensive and collaborative efforts from healthcare providers, researchers, policymakers, community leaders, and patients.

The Grand Rounds on 'Minimizing Racial Disparities in Cancer Care' will focus on approaches to minimizing racial disparities in cancer patients. It will provide the current practice of care and an overview of the optimal practice. This event will engage participants as Dr. Manmeet Ahluwalia, the chief scientific officer, deputy director, and chief of medical oncology of MCI, discusses national and institution-level efforts to alleviate these disparities and enlists actionable strategies for clinicians. Together, we can ensure that all patients, regardless of race or ethnicity, have access to high-quality cancer care and a fair chance of survival.
