COVID-19 Testing: Role and Limitations of Testing

It is true that quick and easy testing is required in order to achieve containment (case identification and contact tracing) after mitigation has achieved a very low prevalence. Significantly, for Baptist Health the identification of an IgG response will probably make it possible to identify a cadre of healthcare providers who will be able to interact with COVID-19 patients, or suspected COVID-19 positive patients, with less risk to themselves and their families. Join Dr. Allan Feingold as he discusses the latest information related to COVID-19 testing.

Target Audience

All interested healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, laboratory personnel, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and physician assistants.

Learning Objectives

  • Assess the underlying nature of the available COVID-19 tests.
  • Determine the role and limitations of testing from a practical epidemiological perspective.
