Being Mortal
Too often, death comes as a surprise to patients’ loved ones because difficult end-of-life conversations never took place. Doctors often feel remarkably untrained, ill-suited and uncomfortable talking about chronic illness and death with their patients. For many physicians, and their teams, there is little training in managing end of life and having difficult end-of-life conversations with patients and families.
Join us for a special screening of the PBS Frontline Film, “Being Mortal,” with renowned author and Boston surgeon Atul Gawande, M.D., MPH, followed by a multidisciplinary, expert panel discussion that will challenge us all to reexamine how we think about death and dying and the way we handle these difficult end-of-life conversations.

Physicians, Psychologists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Dietitians, Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, Clinical Chaplains, Medical Students and other interested healthcare professionals.
