The 2024 Palliative Care and Hospice Symposium will promote evidence-based practice, highlighting the significance of palliative care and hospice interventions by incorporating current research and best practices into patient care for vulnerable patient populations. Healthcare professionals will learn how to enhance the quality of care, aid in symptom management and support quality of life, incorporating interdisciplinary teams to address complex needs of patients in palliative care and hospice settings and their support systems.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this symposium, participants should be better able to:

  • Improve symptom management for palliative and hospice care patients. 
  • Destigmatize the use of approved medications not frequently used to optimize symptom control. 
  • Incorporate interdisciplinary teams to address the complex needs of patients in palliative care and hospice settings and their support systems.
  • Enhance provider confidence in the provision of end-of-life care.
