Working Together to Reduce Maternal Health Disparities
Despite the goal of ending preventable maternal deaths by 2030, the world will fall short of this target by more than 1 million lives with the current pace of progress. According to the World Health Organization, almost all global maternal deaths can be prevented by ensuring that women have access to quality, respectful and equitable maternity care.
The panel discussion will address how to improve patient-centered, culturally responsive care of birthing patients who are at higher risk for poor outcomes and death due to various factors, including the impact of implicit bias.
