Radiation Oncology Grand Rounds – Immuno-Oncology and Post RT Abscopal Response: Potential Synergism or Just Hype
Dr. Khan will help participants understand that radiation has immunological effects and many variables are being studied in current clinical trials, such as timing of radiation, dose of radiation, fractionation, etc. There is some, early data, regarding potentially safety and efficacy, which will be highlighted during the conference.

- Identify the immunological effects that radiation has, which can be exploited in combination with emerging immunotherapy agents.
- Describe the timing of radiation and immune-checkpoint inhibitors are important in improving outcomes in patients, as established in early preclinical models and some early patient outcome series.
