Miami Cancer Institute Multispecialty Grand Rounds – Toward the Elimination of HPV-related Diseases: Starting with Cervical Cancer
The effectiveness of cervical cancer screening in reducing the morbidity and mortality of the disease has been known for decades and is standard medical practice in high-resource countries. In the last decade, HPV vaccines, highly effective, safe, and cost-effective tools to prevent the HPV infections that cause cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases, have become available. Dr. Giuliano will provide strategies for eliminating cervical cancer.
