Introduction to Gamma Knife Radiosurgery Training Course
The Miami Cancer Institute Department of Radiation Oncology and the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine are pleased to present this Introduction to Gamma Knife® Radiosurgery Training Course for radiation oncologists, neurosurgeons, medical physicists, neuro-otolaryngologists, and other healthcare professionals interested in Gamma Knife radiosurgery training.
This educational program provides an opportunity to enhance the practitioner’s knowledge about the practical aspects of stereotactic radiosurgery using the Gamma Knife IconTM. Participants will review clinical implications and clinical outcomes of radiosurgery, identify radiation safety principals, and apply treatment planning considerations and principals of stereotactic radiosurgery treatment hardware. As part of Miami Cancer Institute’s internationally recognized radiation oncology program, our team of experts offers a non-surgical radiation treatment called Gamma Knife radiosurgery – the most modern technology available – in South Florida’s only state-of-the-art Icon Gamma Knife Center.
