Human Dignity in Healthcare
Dignity is viewed as a universal concept in health sciences and a feature necessary to promote health and alleviate suffering related to sickness and impending death. The experience of dignity is significantly meaningful in people’s lives and may be a resource for personal health and well-being. Adopting evidence-based interventions supported by adequate theoretical backing can help enhance patient dignity in hospital and community settings.
