Echocardiography and Noninvasive Vascular Testing Lecture Series: Diagnosing Thoracic Outlet Syndrome: Current Approaches and Future Directions

The diagnosis of thoracic outlet syndrome has long been a controversial and challenging one. Despite common presentations with pain, many presenting patterns can vary within and between the subdivisions of neurogenic, venous and arterial thoracic outlet syndrome. This educational activity will address the diagnostic approach in cases of suspected thoracic outlet syndrome, including the current and future direction of diagnostic investigations.

Target Audience

Cardiologists, vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, echocardiography and noninvasive vascular testing specialists, nurses, sonographers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists

  • Explain the clinical presentation for thoracic outlet syndrome.
  • Describe the patient selection process for testing thoracic outlet syndrome.
  • Demonstrate protocols used in the diagnosis and classification of disease management.
  • Describe new and established treatment modalities for thoracic outlet syndrome.
