An interactive interprofessional workshop bringing together varying healthcare disciplines to learn how to effectively communicate and work as team members to provide optimal patient care.
Target Audience
Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, Students, Residents and Fellows.
NOTE: Students in the following programs: physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, pharmacy, nurse practitioner, dietary, imaging and physician assistant. Baptist Health Nursing Residents. Baptist Health Fellows in the following fellowship programs: family medicine, sports medicine and pharmacy
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the standards of good team communication and the barriers encountered.
- Examine communication tools and strategies that improve patient outcomes.
- Critique medical emergency management in terms of communication effectiveness.
- Summarize how TeamSTEPPS communication tools are used during patient care events.
