Course Description

Compassion fatigue, also known as Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder, is a recognized condition that gradually diminishes a professional’s ability to function at their best. But what happens when a person’s capacity for compassion begins to erode? Health care providers must be able to identify the emotional and spiritual demands inherent in their work. This course provides an overview of compassion fatigue and offers effective strategies to address and prevent it, helping to maximize both the quality of patient care and the enjoyment of their work.

Target Audience

All healthcare providers including residents, fellows, physicians, advanced practice registered nurses (general credit only), occupational therapists, physician assistants/physician associates, healthcare executives, and chaplains.
