Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS-R) One-day Renewal Course
This course is designed for licensed, experienced healthcare providers refreshing their knowledge and certification. This course intended for those with a working knowledge of rhythm recognition, clinical & pharmacological management. The ACLS-renewal is a fast-paced & challenging course designed for healthcare providers that either direct or participate the resuscitation of a patient regularly.
This class requires the completion of the American Heart Association’s ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse Work. A four (4) hour module comprised by multiple video-lessons and a pre-assessment test prior to the participation in the live session. The live session is four (4) hours and includes practice and assessment in a classroom environment.
Providers who take the ACLS Renewal Course must be proficient in the following:
- Performing BLS CPR skills using the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC.
- Demonstrating basic ECG interpretation.
- Demonstrating knowledge of pharmacological concepts and competent administration of cardiac drugs used during ACLS.
- Performing the BLS Primary Survey and the ACLS Secondary Survey.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support management.

Cancellations
- Refunds will be given, minus the cost of the electronic materials which are non-refundable, to those who call to cancel at least 72 hours in advance.
- No refunds will be given for cancellations made within the 72 hours prior to the start of the class or if the registrant does not attend the class.
Attendance Requirements:
Students must present the AHA’s ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse Work certificate of completion to participate in class. Students must attend all sessions of the course and pass all the skills tests and the written test to receive a completion card. The class starts promptly at the scheduled time. Students must arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time for registration and screening purposes. No one will be allowed in class after it has started.
NOTE: Live education sessions involve working in proximity of fellow students. You will be unable to participate in the live session if you are in the active stages of an infectious disease or have reason to believe you have been exposed to an infectious disease, or have sores on the hands, mouth, or face.
Target Audience
The AHA developed the ACLS Provider Course for "currently active" healthcare providers (e.g., medical, nursing, emergency medical or allied health personnel) whose daily occupation or volunteer activities demand proficiency in the knowledge and skills of ACLS. A current provider card is required for the renewal course.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this conference, participants should be better able to:
• Recognize and initiate early management of peri-arrest conditions that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome.
• Demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS care, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) use.
• Manage cardiac arrest until return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), termination of resuscitation or transfer of care.
• Identify and treat ischemic chest pain and expedite the care of patients with acute coronary syndrome.
• Recognize other life-threatening clinical situations, such as stroke, and provide effective initial care and transfer to reduce disability and death.
• Demonstrate effective communication as a member or leader of a resuscitation team and recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance.

4.0 hours Small Group Teaching Stations - Video led demonstration with instructor led practice and testing of:
• Welcome and introductions
• Review of Key Concepts & Algorithms (Small groups during practice)
• Written test
• OPA NPA Insertion skills assessment (in Classroom)
• BLS Skills Assessment (in Classroom)
• "Putting It All Together" Scenario Practice (in Classroom)
• Megacode & Core case testing (in Classroom)
Course Completion Requirements:
For students who meet ALL course prerequisites and are eligible to receive a course completion card, students must:
• Participate in, practice, and complete all learning stations
• Pass the 1-resuer CPR/AED testing station
• Pass the Megacode testing station
• Pass the closed-book written test with a minimum score of 84%
Attendance Requirements:
Students must attend all sessions of the course and pass all the skills tests and the written test to receive an ACLS completion card. Class starts promptly at 08:00 unless otherwise indicated. No one will be allowed in class after 08:10. No exceptions!
