COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Please join us at a Clinical Reasoning Conference, “Sowing the Unexpected Seeds,” with Hac-Tu Jacqueline Chung, D.O., and Julie Giurintano, M.D. The doctors will utilize a structured clinical reasoning approach to evaluate a patient presenting with abnormal imaging findings, reflect on cognitive biases and diagnostic pitfalls that can impact clinical reasoning in complex cases, interpret and integrate diagnostic data — including laboratory studies, imaging and specialized tests — and formulate an evidence-based management plan.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Internal Medicine Physicians, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Residents, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and all other interested healthcare providers
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Utilize a structured clinical reasoning approach to evaluate a patient presenting with abnormal imaging findings.
- Reflect on cognitive biases and diagnostic pitfalls that can impact clinical reasoning in complex cases.
- Interpret and integrate diagnostic data — including laboratory studies, imaging and specialized tests.
- Formulate an evidence-based management plan tailored to the evolving diagnostic impression, including appropriate isolation, empiric treatment and involvement of public health when warranted.
