COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Peer-reviewed journal club discussions not only serve as a global voice of the society, but also a targeted outlet for the publication of original research articles. Participants will learn how to critique research using internationally-validated tools like Preferred Reporting Items for Systemic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) and Consolidated Standards or Reporting Trials (CONSORT).
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists and laboratory personnel.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
- Critique research using internationally-validated tools.
- Determine the clinical applicability of a particular study in their practices.
- Evaluate the hypothesis, the study design, the method and results in a systemic fashion.
