COURSE DESCRIPTION: Children are not just small adults.  Their growing bones are different than adult bones and need special care.  During this advance practice providers orthopedic conference, APP’s will learn how to assess and treat orthopedic fractures including pediatric fractures.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Physician Assistants, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Athletic Trainers and Orthopedists.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

  • Accurately examine pediatric x-rays.
  • Discuss and identify pediatric growth plate fractures.
  • Describe pediatric fractures and assess when casting is appropriate.
  • Identify radius /ulna fractures – when to cast, reduce or recommend surgery.
