Climate Change, Heat and Dermatological Health

Target Audience

Physicians, Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and all other interested healthcare professionals. 

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the role of skin in heat dissipation.
  • Identify patients with impaired heat dissipation who are more vulnerable to heat stress.
  • Recognize adverse dermatological disorders that are exacerbated by increased heat and pollution exposure.
  • Recommend appropriate strategies to patients to decrease their risk for adverse dermatological manifestations related to heat and pollution exposure.
