Please join us for a discussion with guest speakers Scott L. Mendlestein, Esq., and Alberto Acuna, Esq., about patient allegations of sexual misconduct, with a focus on the management of these cases and how to prevent them from happening.

Baptist Health medical staff physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, patient transporters, patient experience, security, human resource, hospital leaders and other interested clinical and non-clinical employees. 

Learning Objectives

  • Review patient and hospital staff scenarios that could be perceived by patients as sexual misconduct. 
  • Implement measures in your daily practice which can help prevent a patient’s perception of sexual misconduct. 
  • Assess statutory requirements associated with patient allegations of sexual misconduct, as well as Risk Management’s responsibility, in conjunction with other key parties, to manage these allegations.
