Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the clinical presentation of deep venous thrombosis (DVT).
  • Utilize a multifaceted approach in the diagnosis of DVT, which includes clinical assessment, evaluation and diagnostic testing. 
  • Describe the role of catheter-directed treatment in the management of patients with DVT; catheter-directed thrombolysis and catheter-directed thrombectomy. 
  • Implement the current evidence-based management regimen to prevent potentially fatal complications of DVT.
