Echocardiography and Noninvasive Vascular Testing Lecture Series: The Use of Duplex Ultrasonography in the Creation and Maintenance of Hemodialysis Access
Evaluation of the patient with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) in preparation for the placement of a dialysis access is extremely important. Proper patient selection and preoperative diagnostic testing will materially enhance the opportunity to place the proper access type in the proper patient.
This educational activity will discuss the clinical evaluation of a patient with CKD, noninvasive vessel mapping prior to the creation of the vascular access and postoperative surveillance and maintenance.
Target Audience
Cardiologists, vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, echocardiography and noninvasive vascular testing specialists, nurses, sonographers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, radiology technologists
