COURSE DESCRIPTION:

A multidisciplinary team approach to care is fostered through peer-to-peer discussion and collaboration. The team discussion pertaining to diagnosis and treatment includes radiological and pathological findings and genetic/molecular testing to bridge gaps across the continuum of care and enhance the overall quality of patient-centered hematology oncology care. This new tumor board conference will enhance the growth at Miami Cancer Institute and Lynn Cancer Institute in collaboration with community providers for multiple myeloma patient population. 

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, General Surgeons, Pathologists, Radiologists, Physician Assistants/Physician Associates, Physician Assistants/Physician Associates, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Nurses, Social Workers, and other healthcare personnel involved in the care of the hematology-oncology patient. 
 
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

•    Implement a multidisciplinary team approach to improve clinical decision making, patient outcomes, and overall patient experience.

•    Utilize peer-to-peer discussions to enhance patient-centered care in hematology-oncology, focusing on prospective patient care management, national treatment guidelines, staging, options and eligibility for genetic testing, clinical research studies, and supportive care services.

•    Develop comprehensive treatment plans for multiple myeloma by leveraging imaging and pathology test results while ensuring compliance with Commission on Cancer standards.
