COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Please join national and international experts in Infectious Diseases in Bone Marrow Transplant patients will discuss case-base conditions among Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology Oncology staff.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Miami Cancer Institute malignant hematology, bone marrow transplant and infectious diseases teams including physicians¸ advanced practice registered nurse, physician assistant, nurses, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
• Recognize and manage bacterial, viral and other type of infectious complications among BMT and hematologic malignancies patients.
• Recognize early signs of viral-related issues in bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients.
• Initiate empiric antimicrobials and determine when to de-escalate antibiotics.
• Implement clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of common infectious complications in BMT patients.
• Treat viral reactivations and viral-related problems in BMT patients.
