2018 Compliance Training for South Miami Hospital Covered Persons - Medical Staff

In December 2016, South Miami Hospital entered into a Corporate Integrity Agreement with the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services. The agreement mandates that we provide annual compliance education for all employees, vendors and medical staff for the next five years.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify fraud, waste and abuse. 
  • Abide by the Stark Statute and Anti-kickback statutes and explain how the laws relate to them individually.   
  • Abide by the requirements of the Corporate Integrity Agreement and explain how it affects them. 
  • Utilize the new role of Hospital Compliance Officer to discuss compliance questions and address potential issues as they are identified.
