MCI GI – Organ Preservation Strategies in Rectal Cancer

The course will provide evidence supporting the “watch-and-wait” (WW) strategy for rectal cancer patients who achieve a clinical complete response to neoadjuvant therapy. It will also review rectal cancer management with an emphasis on baseline staging, neoadjuvant treatment regimens, timing and methods for assessment of tumor response, and surveillance protocols relevant for the effective and safe implementation of WW strategies that will result in optimal organ preservation. 

Target Audience

Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Colorectal Surgeons, Pathologists, Gastroenterologists, Pharmacists, Nurses, Social Workers, Radiologic Technologists and Allied Health Practitioners and all other personnel involved in the care of the gastrointestinal cancer patient.

  • Assess responses for clinical and radiological patient criteria.
