Florida’s Opioid Crisis: Real Stories of Addiction

Florida is in the midst of an opioid crisis. Under new Florida legislation, controlling the opioid abuse epidemic seems to be at odds with maintaining appropriate pain control in patients with true indications for opiate therapy. This course addresses House Bill 21 and CMS legislation and the debate about whether patients who truly require opiates for pain control will experience additional difficulty in obtaining prescriptions in an atmosphere that already stigmatizes their use.

Target Audience

Physicians, Physician Assistants, Medical Students, Nurse Practitioners and other interested healthcare professionals.
